Most of us humans suffer from dry skin to differing degrees. Whether you live in a warm, dry or cold climate, your skin is going to get dried. We all have skin care regimes to combat dryness and other skin challenges for our face and body, but how many of us have a specific foot care regime? Our feet are all we have to stand on and deserve some love and attention. That leads us to this question:

What combination of ingredients can combat dry, cracked feet?

Let’s start with Glycerin derived from plant-based oils.  Its main role is to draw and absorb water from the air helping the skin retain moisture. It also has the ability to facilitate enzymatic reactions in the skin promoting the shedding of the dead, dry and flaky skin. Simply put, Glycerin helps rid the feet of the dead, dry skin and hydrates and protects the soft skin underneath.

Sounds pretty great, right?  But because of the size and nature of its molecules, we need something to help the Glycerin penetrate the skin. The answer is 190 proof alcohol resulting from fermentation of organic sugar cane and then naturally denatured using an organic essential oil such as lavender. The alcohol is denatured to make it taste or smell so bad that it’s not pleasant for consumption as it is considered broadly toxic and linked to birth defects with excessive oral ingestion.  According to EWG, potential risks from alcohol in personal care products are significantly smaller than the health risks poised by the consumption of alcohol.

Alcohol helps other ingredients (such as Glycerin) penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin by creating temporary microscopic openings in the lipid layer of the skin.

It also acts as a natural emulsifier, disinfectant and preservative.

Alcohol combined with the right ingredients does not dry out the skin. For example alcohol mixed with glycerin (when glycerin is in a higher concentration than alcohol) forms a protective layer that helps prevent moisture loss.

So we’ve got the hydration and smoothing, but we still need something to soothe our overworked, tired and cracked feet. That’s where Lavender Oil comes in. And not just any lavender oil but lavender oil derived from organic lavender flowers native to Eastern Europe. It is soothing due its anti-inflammatory and balancing properties and can help clean & heal small cracks due to its antiseptic and anti-bacterial properties. It contains powerful antioxidants that can prevent and counteract the irritating effects of pollutants on the skin.

Some of the benefits of lavender oil include relieving stress & anxiety, promoting relaxation and improving blood circulation – which are all great for our feet! Additionally, Lavender oil is a natural fragrance.

So we put these 3 organic and truly-natural ingredients together resulting in Smooth Feet. A tincture that softens, smooths, hydrates feet like no other product.

Why does Smooth Feet work so well? … the secret is in its simplicity. This century-old recipe has the 3 simple yet powerful ingredients mentioned above,  all sourced from USDA Certified Organic suppliers.

Additionally, Smooth Feet is vegan, cruelty-free, and dressed in eco-friendly packaging sourced responsibly in the United States so you can rest assured that it’s made responsibly with love and KINDness.

So go ahead, give your feet the love and care they deserve.

Question: I didn’t see anything speaking to diabetic feet. Can you tell me whether it has been used with diabetics in particular and whether there are any issues with it’s use.
